I was driving with a girl I used to date and stopped mid sentence when I saw it, and scrambled to grab my phone to snap a pic. She was like, "what the hell was that?" I just told her not to worry, she wouldn't understand. lol

"They only sell those in Australia!" would have been enough to make her understand. I once took a 20-minute detour during a date to follow a Nissan X-Trail. She thought it was such a stupid car to get excited about, but then I said it must have come from Canada or Mexico since they were never sold here. Then she actually took a picture of it for me. :D

I actually did end up explaining why I flipped out over such a seemingly weird car. I told her they aren't sold in the U.S. and it must have been brought up form Mexico.
Arizona is a great place to see some non-US production vehicles; for example, I've seen quite a few Hiluxes there.

Makes sense. I live in Atlanta, so pretty much tucked away in the most remote (as far as proximity to any land borders) corner of the States. That X-Trail and one mid-'90s Ford ute of some sort are the only modern imports I've ever noticed here.

That's really awesome. I live in Southern Arizona and I haven't seen one yet. I know exactly where that was taken. I haven't been to Gilbert in a couple of years/

There's actually a guy in Colorado who imports "pieces" of Commodores and Utes, and "installs" them on GTO's and G8's. His prices are a little obscene though... until you consider that he's effectively buying two cars, cutting them in half, shipping one half-way around the world, and then recombining them, and that he's not some sketchy back-alley shop hastily welding two salvaged half-cars together to turn a quick buck.
